British Gas told me I needed to replace the heat exchanger.
I questioned it as the boiler is only 4 years old.
Another engineer has just fixed the problem - It was due to the pressure switch.
He replaced the pressure switch and cleaned the tubes leading off it. Hot water is finally working fine now.
If I had gone along with BG diagnosis I would be £350 out of pocket and my hot water problem would still be there!!!!
