Government own analysis it will add up to 0.02% - yes 0.02% over the next 15 years. The greater concern is that it will be used to water down animal welfare protections.

The potential impact of this deal on animal welfare is anything but symbolic and the precedent it sets sends a worrying message that we are willing to accept low standards in exchange for tariff-free trade. Other countries waiting in the wings to do a deal will take away the message that we will accept standards far below our own in the name of free trade.

There’s plenty of things you can legally do in this country that aren’t conducive to a happy, healthy and wealthy life. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should and the consumer always has the choice. I can smoke and drink myself to death if I chose to. I choose to drink in moderation, I stopped smoking years ago and I can’t remember the last time I went in a bookies or put any of my earnings into the fruities.

If meat is for sale in my local supermarket and I’m not happy with how it was reared, killed, treated and transported , I’ll make the decision then whether to buy it or not. If enough people do that, you’ll find that the suppliers will change. They will of course cater to the market so it’s up to the market to let them know what is acceptable just as they do now.

How many times do you have to push the same tired zombie debunked ideas of choice. Do you get that choice of meat in school meals, packaged meals, care homes, etc - You don't.

On top any trade deal with the US they want to water down food labelling so you wouldn't even know much about where and how the food was grown, processed etc.

I don’t eat school or care-home meals and on the odd occasion we have a ready meal, it will usually be from somewhere like Waitrose or Marks's because of their standards.

I’m sure you’ll let us all know.

Just this minute seen Liz Truss say on TV talking about Australia and any other trade deals “We will not allow hormone injected beef into the UK". So there, you can sleep easy tonight. :p

Is this the same Liz Truss that lied about the N.I. border controls?

And the same Liz Truss caught out lying about funding to Scotland?

And the same Liz Truss caught in cabinet (along with Gove) agreeing to chlorinated chicken imports in any US trade deal?

Blimey just go’s to show ounce u dump the EU how quickly u can sort a trade deal

the EU would take years to sort a deal

french banging on about sausages and how all negotiations need to be conducted in french
Belgys about there 600 varieties of beer
Swedes about there porn industry
The Dutch on about there tulips

The Romanians would be other wise indisposed down the nearest dock loading up a ship with carpets

Germans whinging about deck chairs

etc etc

the Australians would lose the will to live

Negotiations are ongoing.

Incidentally, something I read yesterday.
The EU consider Russia a pariah state.
The EU have sanctions against Russia.
This year, for the first time, the EU imported more from Russia than the UK.

Time to bin them off completely I think.

Who said? And why was it a good deal as even the Governments own analysis makes it out it isn't.
