Uk holidays cancelled - maybe?

We are away at the moment, in the middle of a two-week holiday, with the caravan, staying on a 5 CL site. Last week, the site was full, the entire week. This week has begun, with just us on the site. I'm beginning to wonder if people have cancelled their holidays, in view of the recent rioting?

It depends if where they live is a vulnerable urban area, and how safe they feel leaving their home. The other possibility is that they are out rioting with a quick means of get away, but obviously that is unlikely.

When you arrive at a campsite and everybody soon leaves i'm thinking riots elsewhere are not the problem.

Were it you, then it would be quite understandable, why they would suddenly depart.

Apparently people are spending less on bigger items like cars and holidays even though inflation and interest rates are falling. The other factor is the start of the olympics. But if people book ahead maybe put off by the atrocious weather at the start of the year.

A site of only 5 pitches is not a big enough sample size, from which to draw solid conclusions, IMHO.

People sometimes tour from sites and go elsewhere. One of the things I liked about using a caravan was the arrive and leave when I liked rather than set days and times as usual with accommodation. Often the only limit was say 8 or 9am for arrivals. Has this changed?

Oh right I thought we were talking about several hundred, or at least 50. Its just a statistical aberration.

It seems I was correct - The field has suddenly filled up again, all five locations now occupied, since the rioting has been contained.. So that's a few people's UK holidays curtailed, by the rioting.
