Our toilet has recently started leaking and we suspect the issue is easily fixable however we are unable to remove the lid. It's a plastic cistern and lid and the screw is also plastic and has been completely worn down by previous attempts at unscrewing.. Can anyone advise on how to remove the lid in an alternative way?

Get a drill, put a drill bit in it and drill through the screw
