Hi all

Can anyone recommend a good product for unblocking a shower tray (or any sink for that matter). After having a shower, the tray takes about half an hour to drain (used to be very fast). With a bent needle, I've managed to get some hair out from the plug-hole, but it still drains very slowly.

Is the best strategy to put some sort of solvent down the plug-hole to dissolve the blockage? Can anyone recommend anything.

Thanks very much in advance for reading my post!

I use my vax because it is a wet hoover, it usually works for me

Haven't you got access to underside of shower tray ? If so, remove the trap, clear the blockage and replace.

Most shower traps are dismantlable from the TOP - is yours? Usually remove grille and remove plastic tube with bar across the top.

BOILING water works quite well to dissolve old soap etc. Use a couple of saucepanfuls.

The Daddy of cleaners is sulphuric acid. Used with huge care it'll clear anything except a plastic bag.
NEVER mix cleaning chemicals.
