Under floor heating or not

Hi All,
We are about to have an extension built, single storey, 3m x 8m on the back of the house, it will have a block + beam floor with insulation and screed but we can't decide whether to go with more rads or electric under floor heating. The boiler is a 3yr old Worcester Bosch.
The floor finish would be approx 15mm thick oak laminated "click" flooring.
The original house is a sprung floor.
Any advice would be grateful.

I would recommend that you check with the manufacturer of your laminated floor before you put the underfloor heating in.

One of the most well known brands (Quick-step) say that their product is compatible with underfloor heating but you need to put down a damp proof membrane to prevent moisture and the floor has to be floated as opposed to being glued down.

Thanks Rabmac1 for the advice, I really don't know anything, I assumed that the floor would be laid on those green soft panels and that's why I was unsure of under floor heating.
I will check out the Quick-step brand. thanks again.

gas costs 1/3 the amount to heat a space in otherwords if it costs 10p with gas the same amount off heating with electric will be 30p

Thanks big-all, you seem to be saying the same thing as my SWMBO.
Maybe I should re-consider a couple more radiators but I assume they would have to be pretty big!!
