Hi I wonder if you can help I just installed aube technologies TH132/AF under floor heating in a conservatory under ceramic tiles. It has been on now for 2 hours and the control panel is only showing 14.2degrees C and the floor still feels cold. On the load terrminals 2&4 there is a note that says if a contactor is used between the thermostat and the load, install a snubber at the contactors coil terminal to ensure the proper operation of the thermostat. What does this mean? Could this have something to do with why its not heating up properly. Thanks in advance

Did you install thermal insulation boards between the subfloor and the tiles? How many watts/m2 is the heating mat rated to? If you're definitely seeing a rise in temperature when the mat is on, albeit not as much as expected, then it's likely either the system is underpowered or the heating mat is faulty.

If the temperature hasn't changed at all in the two hours between switch on and now, you hopefully have a fault with the thermostat, although without testing you can't rule out a fault with the heating wire either.

If you had a contactor then you would probably know about it, effectively a relay with a 240v coil that allows the thermostat to control loads rated beyond the switching capacity of the built-in contacts. However, it would have to be a very large room to need this.

Have you tried metering the output contacts on the stat for the presence of 230v? If you're not confident working on live apparatus then suggest you call an electrician for this one.

First check that you have programmed the thermostat correctly! How did you install the probe? In mini-conduit cut into the insulation? Did you cut the matting to stretch it out at all?
