Hi,

Getting a new bathroom fitted next few months and will look to purchase UFH, warmup in this case for the bathroom. The bathroom is upstairs and on joists and wooden floorboards.

Now the plumber has said i need to get some sort of board, either hardiebacker or warmup insulation boards. I think I'd rather get the latter.

Now what I'm not sure is what thickness to go for as from what i understand it will be:

Tiles - 10mm
Adhesive -5mm
UFH -5mm
insulation board - 10mm ??
wooden floor boards
joists

So unless I'm mistaken it will be about 30mm thick ??

Main reason for asking is working out the difference from bathroom tiles to hallway carpet.

Ta,
