Hi,
We have just moved house to a property with zoned UFH. When you turn the temperature up on the thermostat for a particular zone it triggers the UFH pump to start even when the boiler is off and not producing any heat. Does this mean that the pump runs independently of whether or not the boiler is producing heat and therefore, unless you reduce the temperature on the thermostat the UFH pump with stay on non-stop whilst the room temperature if below that of the set temperature, even when the boiler is in the "off" part of its timer cycle.
Thanks

Sounds as if the UFH was a later addition to an existing system, if it has been wired incorrectly (or lazily) then yes the ufh stat and pump can run entirely independently from the rest of the heating system. Which is not good- the UFH cannot call for heat, nor can it signal (to the boiler) that it is hot enough
