Underfloor heating to replace a rad

We currently have a small hallway at the bottoom of the stairs. It has a small single rad on the wall - this is the coldest spot in the house as I think the heat all goes straight up the stairs, plus we have the front door right next to it (upvc - 3 years old).

We are currently looking into having a small extension on the front to make a porch/larger hall. This would move the front door further forward.

I was thinking that underfloor heating may make it better as it would be a better distribution of heat - is there any kit that can just replace a rad.

I had a quick search and found a few that T into a current rad to provide a warm floor and 'background heating' but I want it to be enough to actually heat it.

Total floor space would only be about 7sqm.

It's a very small floor area, so the heatloss of the area would need to be checked. With UFH you are limited to a upper limit of surface temp at 29*C, however a Hall is normally only designed to run at 16-18*C so this maybe fine.

Thanks for the reply - yes it is only small.

How would I check for heat loss?
