Hi,
I have a 2 storey 1930s house with bay windows. Above ground floor level the external walls are single skin so while I had some floor boards up in front of upstairs bay window recently I noticed a large empty void below the joists down as far as the ceiling of the downstairs bay. So approx 18" to 24". I decided to stuff the void with loft insulation and packed it in quite tight against the brick as far back as where the edge of the bay window structure meets the main floor joists.
Question is should i have left some space for ventilation? As I packed the insulation in quite tight I have just realised there will not be any in that void now.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
