I have an Grant 15/21 oil condensing boiler which is set at 15, I have lagged my central heating pipes under suspended wooden floor, my pipes warm up quicker and the radiators warm up quickly, but I have noticed the boiler cuts in and out about every two minutes, the radiators all warm up about the same temperature, I read online that this could be over cycling , but if the water going back to the boiler is still warm surely it will keep cutting out.the plume of smoke from the flue is clear in colour is there a problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest it's working as it should
Most oil boilers your grant included fire at a fixed rate.
So unlike equivalent gas boilers they do not modulate down.
If its coming up to temperature really quickly you could get your oil engineer to fit a smaller nozzle .
Unfortunately not a diy job as you need combustion analysis equipment to make any meaningful changes to a oil burner.
Maybe first work out heat load of your heating system and take it from there.
Maybe ask the mods to move this to Plumbing forum?

Thanks Exedon much appreciated.
I am going to book a boiler service. I am surprised the difference lagging the pipes has made, with the price of oil it will be interesting to see if there is a saving on the oil used.
I don’t know how to move this to the plumbing forum ?
Thanks again.
