Hi all

I've got the chance of a free upvc door .
It's only 2 year old but my opening is 950cm wide , this door is 880, so as I'm getting the door free is it bad practice to put a 70mm addon on,
It's 210cm high too.
There is a window to the side also attached with a joining addon, if it's OK to do this can the 70mm go hinge side?

Certainly doable and sometimes add ons are used hinge side to make sure hinges clear internal walls. Only thing I will say about it is you will need long screws and sometimes this can mean the fixing isn't always as secure as it could be ... in that it could vibrate and twist slightly when the door is opened or closed , as add on is hollow. I have known wood be put inside the addon to make it slightly more rigid
