Hoping somebody can help me out with this. YOu must forgive me for posting on a similar vein earlier but I think I phrased my question rather poorly.

I am pretty sure that I have a sealed central heating system that needs to run at 1 bar and is powered by a combination boiler.

There are two flexible pipes (written on them is ABPWHT75 AQUA B PEX MM BS8291 G 20/05/99 (5)) that come up from the floor downstairs and go into the ceiling. I can see the ends of the pipes that go into the ceiling and can see that they are not connected to anything. However, I can't see whether they are connected to anything in the floor.

As you can see in the diagram, http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=11/31005525624.jpg&s=x11 there are some radiators in that room which work perfectly well. The two pipes are drawn on the right hand side. Could these pipes be connected to the central heating system in the floor. If they were would the fact they are not connected at the other end disrupt the pressure etc or could they in some way be there to release pressure?

I would like to get rid of these pipes but don't want to risk pulling them out of the floor to find water pouring everywhere.

That is the most informative diagram I have ever seen :)

Why not take a photo of the unconnected pipe ends and post it? or better still another diagram!

I admit this may well be a diagram for the sake of a diagram but there is not much to explain really.

All I can see is that the tops of the blue pipes are not connected to anything and the pipes then run down my wall and go into my floor so I can't see what if anything they are attached to.

Any ideas as to whether unconnected pipes could be connected to a sealed system?
