I'm going to ask what is potentially quite a silly question, so please excuse me if so:

I've just taken delivery of a new basin and there are two points on the underside where the glaze appears to have been milled/ground off.
Is this normal, done to level them up after they're fired?
My only problem with it is that it appears to be preventing the basin from sitting properly on the vanity.

Any pointers appreciated!

Oh dear
The top of the vanity should really fit into the channel between the basin bowl and the bit that's been ground down. Are you sure it's the correct unit for the basin? Personally I'd be sending it back as being of unsatisfactory quality - something I'm quite experienced at doing with this brand

It's definitely the correct basin/vanity pair, yes. Shame that it's not the quality they portray it to be.
The toilet seat we've received has a split in it too.

The taps appear to be good though - it seems they're re-branded Bristans.
