unusual door width (thickness)

i have a door thats 1 1/4 inch wide. the standard doorknob doesnt fit it. do i lay the drill pattern differently or do i need to search for a special doorknob? where might i look?

yes i am using a knob lockset.

i do not have the metal cutting tools to trim the shaft. but ty.

What we call a hacksaw. I'd be surprised if you can't buy one for $5 or less

BTW by our standards a locking knobset is a very insecure way to fasten a door. Our burglars would have one off in seconds.
