I have a 3-wheel combination lock in my box of things that I hope to find a use for one day.
It doesn't seem to open with the correct combination, so I opened it up and squinted at the wheels.
"Sometimes" it opens with the correct combination, but "sometimes" the first wheel sets to the open position with a different number. It's consistently the same number. Let's say it ought to be 37, but it's sometimes 26.
Wheels 2 and 3 are consistently correct.
Can anyone think why?
