Hello
I'm having a nightmare with a replacement unvented cylinder.
My original needed replacing as it was leaking and warped.
The quotation and invoice afterwards (I have paid) both state they will fit a World Heat 150L cylinder.
The company initially fitted the wrong model as it was the correct brand but I subsequently realised it was only 120L, so they agreed to replace it with the correct model (after trying to offer me compensation). He confirmed on the phone it would be a World Heat stainless superflow 150L and I stated this in a follow-up email summarising the conversation.
They came today and this time it's the right size, but wrong brand - it's a Gledhill stainless ES. I know Gledhill is a decent brand but I googled it and this particular model (think it's Gledhill's cheapest) seems to be about half the price of the World Heat.
I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt the first time, but now I think this was deliberate to save them a few quid... They've now said they'll find out how much the models are and refund me the difference (when I mentioned I'd googled them, they asked me how much the difference in price was but I didn't say as I feel they should be coming to me with a proposal).
However, I'm very tired of this company now and I am still in the 30-day period of the Consumer Rights Act that says I can reject the goods for a full refund (as there is a breach of contract as the goods are not as described) and I am tempted just to say goodbye to them and start over with a different company (I've never even received an apology...)
I'm not asking for legal advice obviously, but can anyone advise whether it's worth just taking the compensation (which would be nice but I'm not broke by any means so it's not essential) or if the more expensive model would be much more worthwhile?
I do note both models have a 25-year guarantee... I'm not sure of other differences except that the World Heat has 50mm thick insulation and the Gledhill has 40mm - does this make a significant difference to heat loss? It's in a fairly small cupboard (pic attached although I couldn't invert it so you'll need to tilt your head ).
Thanks
