UPS

i have been given an APC 250 UPS uninterrupted power supply unit. I use a laptop so dont need a UPS but is it any use to condition the power to avoid spikes? Or shall i just give it away/charity.

A UPS supply is normally used on say a Server where you need it. As for a laptop I think it is a bit over the top to attach it !!!

Maybe get it on the Bay of E ???

If you fancy giving it away, I could use a UPS to play with. It won't be any good for filtering unless it's an interactive or online UPS (it won't be, you don't give those away).

I suppose the lap top will last longer if power fails although I would use it on cordless phones real pain when power cut and all phones fail.

Can't believe they put batteries in all hand sets and not in base.
