Should upstairs cold water be supplied from:

1. Mains supply
2. Attic Header tank
3. Either, it doesn't matter

The reason I ask is because I want to fit a power shower which mustn't be connected to the main supply. I'm also moving the location of the bathrooms in my house, so have the option to "start again".

So do I need to lay 3 pipes: hot water, cold water from tank, cold water from mains. Or can I forget about that last one.

Currently, all my upstairs cold water (taps, loos) is supplied from the mains supply.

Many Thanks.

3 - Either, it doesn't matter.

If the shower you are installing must have gravity feed from tank then you can either install a tank solely for the shower, and feed the taps from mains (better flowrate) or tank feed the lot.
