uPVC awning window adjustment

I'm wondering if there's a way to open this awning any further. The metal slide tray has a restrictor built into it. I'm trying to paint the outside of the frame but it's proving difficult without any more room to get out

Thats as far open as it'll go, how about removing the glass?
