I have a brown UPVC outside door with a UPVC framed glass side panel to one side. In the hot weather, the door tends to fall open with a puff of wind - apparently having moved away from the glazed side panel. The door handle and catch interface with the edge of the side panel at the approximate centre of the door/side panel combination, so the side panel and the door seem to have contracted away from each other! That cannot be right - indeed it is the opposite of what I would have expected. In colder weather everything is fine since the door catch mates correctly with the edge of the side panel as the two parts come closer together. The whole door and side panel combination is mounted in a red-brick wall.
