moving my front door were I will be creating new opening in the wall, my problem is according to the se the width of the opening is 896mm. the firm who is making the door say its not wide enough & should be more like 980mm to comply width building regs which state there should be a minimum gap of 800 from frame to handle here in sunny Scotland.the door is costing nearly £800 so realy need to get this right.will not be going back to the se as there a few mistakes on his drawings including a structural one. thought that there would be a standard width for new builds as this is a renovation it comes under that. cheers gramps.
