It was ok until recently. To the left there is now a big gap between the window and the frame and it's freezing in the bathroom now. Can't see anything that is bent from the inside. It's a horizontal opening one so a bit tricky to really look at the hinges.

Couple of wierd ideas:

Is the big gap where some nasty person might have tried to lever it open to break into your house?

Does the window have bolts sticking out to hold it shut, and is one of these bolts failing to go into its hole?

Is the gap on the edge opposite the hinges, or is it at a corner?

Is there anything stuck into/out of the frame, like a screw head or a security fastener

Hi

on my windows I have fire egess friction hinges, they have a easy cleaning feature, this allows you to slide the window away from the hinge side of the frame, to allow you to clean the outside panel. This may have worked loose.
