If any one has been following my earlier post
Symptons temp goes in red water is full fan works top hose hot bottom hose cold oil is black in sump and at filler mechanic says head gasket gone (£480 please) how does a gasket stop circulation he says radiator and pump ok??going back tomorrow

If the HG is gone there are three things that can mix: coolant, oil, and combustion gases. If combustion gas is in the coolant it'll boil it. Bubbles in the header tank can be an indication. You don't always get milky oil.

you can buy a cheap kit to test for combustion leaks if your unsure and want to double check.

All sorted drained system cleaned it a couple of times 3 days later circulation restored could have got seriously ripped off for a head gasket and I would still have same problem thanks for all replies.
