Hello guys.

When first fitted the key could lock the multipoint lock, UPVC door. To operate the key, the handle is pushed fully forward to a stop, then, in that position, the key is turned. Now, when weather is cold, the handle, when turned, will not allow movement of the key to a locked position.

I tried adjusting the hinges and it worked for a time.

It is the claw type and a photo is attached.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello guys.

I assume the handle will raise easily if you try when door is open....

Hook type locks can hit the strike plate if the door shrinks, just enough to stop the door handle fully engaging the lock and stopping the key from turning.

its a common problem in timber doors not usually on plastic

can you adjust the hinges so the door is closer to the strike plates

Yes! Handle raises easily.
Just checked the door.

At the top, it touches the top locking point in the frame. At the bottom there is a gap of maybe 5.0 mm.
