we are planning a single storey extension which comes out of the rear of the house encompassing kitchen and dining area. The new open plan space links to the rest of the house through the hallway and the utility. this in turn leads to outside, downstairs garage and office space.
The architect has specified 30min fire doors for all new doors, including 2 storage cupboards, some of which are also smoke sealing (the storage cupboards for example) and the door to the garage stairs is also self closing.
Is this right? it seems a bit overkill for the storage cupboards. we already have a self closing fire door at the final entrance to the garage. what exactly are the min rules, just to be clear. obviously safety is improtant
