using chrome pipe to make over bath racetrach shower curtain

hi I want to make a racetrack style shower rail using chrome pipe and extended pipe clips(22mm), I was thinking of bending a 3m length of chrome pipe then using some kind of joiner to create an oval/rectangular shape, and 2-4 clips to fix to ceiling,
I was wondering if anyones attempted anything similar or has any advice?
The reason I want to do this is I can only find these types of rail for around £150 which is a bit expensive!

You can bend chrome pipe without any issues, but joining it is a bit of a problem......it doesn't like soldering and compression fittings look exactly what they are.
Can you explain your oval / rectangular joiner idea, please, and maybe a wardrobe rail is worth considering?
