I am currently building a playhouse for my grand daughter and am thinking of painting the outside with emulsion for ease of applying. The base material is treated shiplap boarding. Any comments would be appreciated.

TIA

To be blunt, sounds a bad idea. Look at 'shed and fence' paints.

Depends how long you want it to last for. For what it's worth, I reboarded a trailer with ply a couple of years ago and painted the outside with emulsion, and it's still going strong. You'd be better off with a coloured exterior wood protector of some sort - Cuprinol or similar.

Cheers
