Hi all

Moved into a new house 3 weeks ago, still haven't bought a washing machine, mainly due to having so many other issues to deal with but also because the recess under the worktop I have is smaller than usual (840mm). I've been trying to find a machine I can fit in this but struggling badly. I decided to just buy an integrated machine (820mm high) but was in Currys tonight and 2 different salesmen told me it's a terrible idea to do this as the freestanding machines will rattle about beyond belief if they're not fixed in position. Does anybody know if this is true? If it is then I'm back at square 1 a bit but better to know now

Cheers

Never tried that but find it hard to believe as integrated machines are better built and vibrate less

Have you read and understood the installation instructions for the machine you are looking at buying? Can you adhere to them?
One Bosch machine's manual looked at had optional fixing brackets "to improve stability" along with a few 'must do' items.

You will be missing the door/plinth covering the front port, controls, detergent drawer and filter access - but I cannot see that it matters if those are missing? My son's "integrated" seems simply a cupboard with a door inside which is his washer (albeit door hinges are screwed into the washer panel).

Integrated probably has a better way of adjusting the feet in situ cf a conventional washer (i.e. all 4 feet from the front) so should be more level and less likely to 'walk'?
