Using metric drill bits with imperial stops?

Would it be sheer madness to try to use a set of drill stops such as these http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/displayProduct.jsp?sku=TL01439&CMP=e-2072-00001000 with drill bits defined in millimetres?

7/16 of an inch is 11.11 mm. I wonder if that's enough to render it unsuited to a 10 mm drill bit.

The stops will tend to float about a bit but they should be fine....you can always pack the drill out a bit with some masking tape if you want to.

You ar elikely to mark the wood more with the stop being eccentric to the drill bir and a bit more likely to snap. try something metric like these turn one way they are a stop, the other they countersinks
