Call an expert before wasting any more money on parts you don't need. Probably would have been cheapest option in the first place

How long have you had the boiler? Have you always had the problem?

hi no its been fine for 5 years been serviced every year then the expansion tank went kept pressurising the heating circuit had that replaced and 4 months later this???? to the other reply it is a expert who is working on it and replaced the items listed but is now stuck to what may be causing the problem as he has never had a vailiant work fine on half pressure but not full water pressure thanks

Not much of an expert then !

It would be better if he was to ask in the Combustion Chamber area of this site for gas registered engineers!

We cannot really give you DIY advice for work which involves opening the boiler casing as that's the combustion seal which makes it room sealed.

ok I fully understand the safety implications I would not touch it anyway as he is doing the job anyway just wanted some ideas what it could be that was all like I said its not for me to try and sort it cheers

pressure is very different to flow rate…

If you could measure the water temperature at a rate close to 12litres/minute at a tap, any tap you can get a bucket under with a know volume in litres marked on it (use a stopwatch), compare the output temperature to the inlet (cold) temperature and tell what the difference is, it might help us help you.

I would be looking for a 35 °(isn) difference at that flow-rate.

Could you do this and report back, before spending any more time/money on this appliance.

P.C.B fault or flow sensor, nuff said. ;) All in your manual or you can download one from internet,Manufacturers apparently think that you should know how your appliance works and how to fault find to a degree, that`s why they print a big fat manual,no qualifications needed. Gas safety is one thing, refusing to ask simple questions on faults on your gas appliance is pathetic. ;) By the way, depending on boiler, most faulty components are outside of the combustion chamber so there is no reason why anyone cannot work on their own boiler or any boiler you choose for that matter. ;)
