My vailliant boiler is overflowing. The pressure is at 2.5bar and if you depress the safety valve and release the pressure it builds up again to the same pressure immediately. The boiler is also not firing. The pilot remains lit but that is all.
Any Ideas as to what might be causing this?

Thanks.

Ok so the reason why it was over pressurised was because the cold water feed to the boiler was open- stoopid! Its stable now at a cold 1bar. The problem still remains that it wo'nt fire. The pilot is lit and so are the electrical lights on the front of the boiler. The boiler is a Vaillant vcwgb221h. G.c. no- 47-044-14.

Any help greatfully recieved at the moment!

The boiler also makes a "tick" when the hot water tap is turned and the same tick is heard when the tap is shut off.

Is there a reset button on the top of the boiler left hand side if so press it!

On the top of the outer casing or the front panel? There is no obvious reset switch after removing the front panel. Thanks

On the top of the outer casing you don't need to remove anything (I think)!!
