Vaillant boiler - advice please

Hello everyone,

We have a Vaillant combination boiler with the following problem,

Hot water works fine when we have the central heating turned on but when the central heating is off we don't get any hot water !

Does this sound like an expensive problem to fix ?

Its a Turbo Max 242e or 282e (not sure which)

usual culprits are the diaphram in the diverter valve or the white plastic arm that operates the dhe microswitch
