vaillant boiler ecotec plus 824

Hi since changing the thermostat controller twice the temperature turns off when it reaches 55 degrees then drops to 42 degrees then constantly keeps re-booting. Took off vaillant old controller which was wireless and wired in the new controller which works fine, does the old receiver in the boiler itself the front button and light need to be disconnected. Will this stop the boiler from switching off at 55 degrees. The water is unaffected. Thanks really need some help please.
