Vaillant boiler problem

I have the following problem with a Vaillant THERMOcompact boiler in my new flat.

When I press the start button a spark is created for a few seconds then it stops.

You need a Gas Safe registered engineer.

And some please and thank you's wouldn't go amiss.

Top of the list of possibilities is a stuck pump. Otherwise its a RGI as Dan says.
