Vaillant Boiler Problem

Hi all

I have a vaillant boiler 282 model

It has worked well for many years but recently I have had a new expansion vessel (external) and water pump fitted.

The boiler is working much better for the above but is still locking out every few days, usually when starting first thing in the morning having been off all night.

I managed to take a video of when it locks out a few days ago which you can see here:-

Do you have any ideas as to what extra work I should have done to cure this lock out problem

I would be most grateful for your thoughts on this and thankyou in anticipation of your help.

hi have a look at the flame, and see if it beening pulled off the flame probe, if you can see it.

no it does not seem to do this

before it locks out the flames appear and all seems well but after about 10 seconds from the flames starting the boiler locks out and the flames cease

does this help

Can you exactly measure the time? Not just onece but several times and see if its consistent.

It may well be a flame failure lockout and that will usually need diagnosis by a competent boiler engineer.

What's the pressure gauge showing? Lack of water flow will cut the gas valve.

Yes I can see the problem get a gas engineer it's not a diy job in Kent? Use this bloke

1.5 bar which drops to about 1bar on start

I will get an engineer but my current engineer does not know what the problem is

I took a video of this morning's lockout after 10 seconds here

it seems the difference between the two videos is that in the first the flames stay the same but in the second the flames seem to increase after about 5 seconds. Does this make any sense?

hi the only other idear i have is lack of water flow though the boiler, and its going off on high temp. you would be best getting a vaillant engneer out, it costs, but they will fix it there and then. wellington
