I am new to this site.

I have Vaillant boilor sine 18. The over heat device keeps cutting off. What could be the problem?

Heat is not getting out of the boiler; could be the pump or corrosion of the system

If the pump were faulty, would the boiler fire? I ask because it is the pump pressure that operates the servo valve atop the gas valve to allow gas to pass through

Pump might do enough to get the boiler going, but not enough to shift all the heat. Can't remember if the sine looks for flow or pressure.

Over heating, could very well be the NTC resistor which in affect is the boiler stat if this has gone it would cause boiler to get too hot and trip ,
