Hi I am about to install a SALUS receiver and wireless thermostat to replace my failing Plumb Centre EHE0200361 unit and came across a strange wiring configuration when removing the cover off the old one (Attached) An earth wire is present when none is supposed to be there according to the wiring diagrams for this unit (attached) I was hoping to avoid having to take off the front cover off the boiler but unless you can help with regards to the switch wire configuration, I may have too. Thanks for any advice on this problem.

The last diagram is for the CENTRE receiver with no mention of L bridging to A as a switch??

Kind regards

Nick

Hi Nick,

The "earth" wire has been used in poor workmanship and shouldn't have been used. It's the switch live back to the boiler. Rather than removing the cover you could add some brown sleeving or insulation tape to show it is a live wire. As for the links if you look at number 4 on the diagram, there's a link from L to A.

Thank you so much Stuckinarut. Your swift response and knowledge has led to me having a working heating system again. All the best, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
