I have had q quote for a worcester greenstar 28i boiler with a 6 year gaurantee for £2,200 and I am waiting for a quote for vaillant eco tec plus 824 boiler, which I do not know much about.

I have a detached house with 2 bathrooms but one of them has a bath the other an electric shower no bath, 3 bedrooms, kitchen, utility, conservatory, dining room and living room, just my self and my husband live here we have radiator values of 50,000 BTUs

has any one any comments to make on either of the boilers

i would suggest that the vaillant is better (thats what ive got at home ecotec plus 824) but others will disagree

vaillant wont give you a 6 year garantee probably 2

i thought woster bosch was 5 years

by the way i think £2200 is cheap i would expect £3000 + VAT ish
also wouldnt reccomend a combi in 2 bathroom house they really are not suitable for families

check that you have a good incoming mains pressure and FLOWRATE

and also that the system gets properly powerflushed a new combi will not like the dirty water and it will invalidate your garantee

what sort of system do you currently have ?

I have a combi boiler alpha CB28 which is 8 years old but has broken down yet again, so decided to have a new boiler. we have a magna clean fitted and last had a powerflush may 2008.

There is only myself and husband here so not to much tap running as I said the second bathroom has an electric shower a

the worcester quote was from an accredited installer on the worcester bosch site

I have read good reports about the vaillant eco tec,and am finding it hard to decide which boiler I will go for

BTW mate go for a 30 CDI, costs a wee bit more but a much better boiler.

The junior 28i doesn't have a thermostat on the boiler for hot water BTW.

Some Vaillant installers (myself included) have a 5 yr warranty. May be worth you finding a Vaillant specialist in your area.
