vaillant ecomax 83512 with VRT340f thermo controller

I hope someone out there can help my mum! She currently has a Vailant Ecomax 83512 combi boiler with a VRT340f wireless thermostatic controller. She has struggled with the controller and even my husband has gone through the manual to help her reprogramme basically from scratch, but to no avail! Can anyone suggest an alternative wireless controller that is user friendly. Thanks in advance
