Hi,
I have an Vaillant ecotec 831 combi boiler that just has standard on off controls for radiators and UFH with a zone valve. It was installed around 2013 and the UFH added later.

Is it possible to install a controller via ebus that would allow weather compensation?

Would a vaillant controller be best? I see TADO and Drayton do some ebus controllers?

Would it be possible to set the flow rate of the UFH to lower than the radiator flow temp? Currently the boiler doesn't know the difference and probably uses up a lot more gas !

Thanks.

Vaillant controls would work better, not sure about Tado. Are you sure Drayton do ebus? Do you currently have weather compensation?

sensoCOMFORT RF × 2, and MyVaillant Connect would be best. You'll also need a VR71 wiring centre. This will give you a single UFH zone actually the most efficient way to run it) and a single radiator zone

Thanks. Is it smart enough to run the UFH at a low temp when the radiators are not required? The UFH normally comes on a long time before the radiators

Wow just looked at the cost of the vaillant gear. My gas bill is only £420 a year so the payback would be a long time!

I might have to put a servo on the heating temp knob to change it automatically!

It is a shame the ebusd adapter doesn't work to change the flow temp without a vaillant ebus controller or so it seems.
