My Corgi registered Plumber fitted my Ecotec Plus 2 years ago.

Last year it becamed gunged up and Vaillant replaced the heatexchanger. At the same time the plumber added a MagnaClean.

Problem is looks like it's gunged up again, I'm getting s.53 codes and frankly it getting warm but the flow I tihnk is constricted. I've cleaned the Magnaclean ( it was completely covered it Iron particles like a think gravy or oil.) (If I'd known how easy it was to clean I would have done it earlier.. my plumber didn't even mention it!)

What do I do now. I phoned the plumber who basically said he didn't want to know, but persauded him to come out and service it.

He did powerflush it originally and since... but I know full well that in decorating taking a radiator off or replacing them that they are full black gunge.

My plan is now to get him to service the boiler and replace every remianing old radiator.

Is there a way cleaning the heat exchanger, ie I've read citric acid might help or does need to be replaced?

Secondly in replacing the radiators will it cure gunge problem or could it still be lurking the pipes enough to get past the Magnaflow and reck the heat excahnger again.

Is there a filter which could be added to the system which blocks up the flow if gunged up, rather than the Magna clean which I suspect just lets the stuff flow past it, if it is overwhelmed?

Not sure what kind of powerflush leaves black gunge in the rads! Clearly not done properly. Should be rectified free of charge by the installer. No need to change radiators if they're not leaking.
