Just a quick query. My RGI has suggested I buy a EcoTec Plus 425 by Vaillant, a 24kw boiler with a 10 yr guarantee. I just checked the Vaillant website and there is no such boiler.... or is there?

Think he means an ecoTEC+ 825... it's a 25Kw boiler with a 10yr guarantee. If you have a dirty system make sure it's properly cleaned (eg: Powerflushed) or your warranty won't be worth anything when the boiler is affected by sludge.
The above assumes its a combi.
If its an open vent heat only boiler it could be an ecoTEC 424.......

The ecotec plus 425 does exist. It is the new erp version with a new aluminium heat exchanger.
Edit: I'm a bit confused now! They seem to be on sale here:

But I think it is a mistake as vaillant don't include it in their list of new erp models!
