Hi

Just had our first ever problem with this boiler after 9 trouble free years.

It's installed in the upstairs airing cupboards where the old water tank was.

We noticed today that a large number of the bed clothes stored under the boiler had brown marks and were damp.
Then found a damp brown patch on the wall under the left side of the boiler.

On examination I found that the black plastic pipe that should be attached to the drain under the heat exchanger was off, thus condensate had been running into the body of the boiler for a period of time.
It was last serviced in March this year.

It's been reattached and a new clip ordered.

However I am worried and need some solid advice please.

I thought that this condensate went into a water syphon trap before being allowed into the water pump that dumps it into the roof and into our soil vent pipe.
This is done to stop poison fumes getting into the house.

My wife and I have been suffering a number of health issues, sore eyes, sleep problems for some while.
How at risk have we been or am I panicking over nothing?

Many thanks

Mike

Then any fumes would be drawn into the fan , diluted by fresh air from outside so no danger to you. Boiler is room sealed

Who took the cover off the boiler to find the faulty condense pipe connection?
