Basically boiler will not start up and ignition indicator starts flashing. I have fitted a new CH pressure differential switch, cleaned up the pipes feeding it, checked the expansion tank 0.9 bar, checked water pressure 1.5 bar and holds steady. No obvious leaks after two weeks of checking, no water from overflow, bled air from pump and rads.
observation shows the (water) pressure differential switch is not engaging when the boiler is fired up and so not allowing the sequence to continue.
After draining and refilling the system will work fine first time but as soon as it switches off and the pump finishes cycling the light starts to flash again. The problem can be resolved by re starting the system and gently lifting the arm that sits on the micro switch. The boiler fires up and the sequence completes and after about 10 secs the arm is sufficiently raised up to release the micro switch. This fixes it until next time the system switches off, over the day I have hot water and central heating - any ideas please?
