My cousin recently had a service done on a 2004 Turbomax Plus 824e combi. The engineer noted that a couple the heat insulation boards in the combustion chamber were cracked, ok for now, but said they will need replacing in near future. Poss at next service. Then he mentioned they may be unobtainable and boiler would need replacement.
I did a quick Google and couldn't find any listed - though this doesn't necessarily mean they are obsolete. Are they still available? If not, could a competent engineer obtain the correct thickness/spec fireboard and cut it to the right shape to fit?
Would appreciate any advice, as she's not loaded and it would be a shame to scrap a boiler that is otherwise in excellent condition and has proved extremely reliable in the 19 years that it's been in service.
