I have a Vaillant TurboMax Combination Boiler and it is doing the following...
1... Central Heating is fine on it's own.
2... Hot Water is fine when heating is off.
3... When I have the heating on and turn on a hot tap the water only comes out luke warm.
Any Ideas ?

can i just revvive this a BIT...

my neighbour has a 824 e and has had same problem before. I found out was the diverter valve as the ball swells and vaillant have since changed design a bit to stop it sticking in one psoition.

This is less than two years ago and its at the same problem again .. bloody annoying. Are they really tempermental to the cleanness of the water in the system or can the motor get out of sync with the mechanical diverter part?

or shal, i just sod it and get a valve again

new valves are fine. The original problematic valve had a smaller holes round the top of the valve, something like 5mm (guessing). The newer ones should have the holes drilled larger about 10mm. Anyway, if you have an old one and order a new one you will see what i mean.
Anyway, remove the motor from the valve, press down the pin inside the valve, you should be able to move it with a reasonable amount of pressure. If you can't shift it, its stuck, new one required.
With the valve motor loose from the boiler, turn off the boiler and turn it on again, the boiler will go through a self check. The motor spindle will move to its 3 positions, generally if its had it it will not move or just vibrate.

Yes the one i fitted has the larger 10mm holes. Thats the first thing i noticed when i got it- the difference in hole size- ooerrr.

The motor end does move freely and does its self check thing. One thing i thought of tho is that u can move yourself the motor pin in and out- so in effect put it in the wrong position to where the boiler think it is.. does it correct itself or can it run of of synk so to speak thinking its in one position when its not?

so how bout the pin inside the brass valve? should push in with a small amount of force and return back to position.
think your motor is probably ok without seeing it first hand :)
I will be surprised if your valve is faulty with the new type. not changed one myself yet!
