Hi i have a very old Vaillant and its done me very good service but now go a problem When DHW is demanded the boiler does not fire up at first I thought it was the differential valve not sensing the water pressure but the pin was moving and the micro switches were going over the CH is fine but the the hot water is low temp will this be due to the flow valve or wax insert
can you help me to bring this back to life

Cross my palm with silver, will look at the problem then

Ian, as said to OP, cross my palm with silver, all will be revealed:LOL:, including supply of said wax capsule (for monetary gain of course:whistle:). Nothing in this world is free, I am sure you will agree with that statement:p

This might be a diy website, but some information surely deprives some hardworking RGI of income

There can be many causes of problems on this boiler.

Questions I would put are with CH off if you run a tap does the boiler make any noise?

Then with CH off, if you select DHW preheat, does the boiler fire up?

Because they are somewhat complicated, in many ways they are not very suitable for DIY repairs.

I really must stick the 3 brand new complete valves i still have onto ebay before they become worthless

ok gas112 i will give it a try how much are you putting them on ebay with there costs listing final and paypal charges and the like or direct i put a battery drill on there and it was quite amazing the charges i had to pay
how do these wax units stop the boiler from firing though cant understand it if throw the right hand micro (3 wire) over the boiler fires with the DHW is demanded or no the other does not seem to do much when the CH is on boiler fires and the wax stat starts to move but does not seem to throw over the micro but not had it on long to fully heat the system

I paid 180 for a new old stock diverter valve about 18 months ago. it took weeks to find one back then.

my sister has just ditched hers, she had a guy who had plenty of spares, and kept her boiler running, but he has exhausted his supply and can't find more, apparently even vaillant aren't sure of the original part numbers
