I currently have a Vaillant 937 controlled by a Tado V3+ system using ebus. I have bought a new Tado X system which only does opentherm or relay control. I have purchased a VR33 module and have already done a test fit and proved it works changing the V3+ to talk opentherm rather than ebus.
I am reluctant to install the VR33 in the boiler as although it is 11 years old and out of warranty I don't want my wife having to deal with a Vaillant service engineer if it breaks down while I am working away from home as I often do for weeks at a time.
What I would like to do is mount the VR33 in an external enclosure by my Tado X wireless interface so that the only cable going to the boiler would be the current ebus +/-
Does anybody have the connector pinout for the X31 edge connector?
I'm hopeful that the wiring would follow their own convention with the red and black being ebus + & - but I don't know if it powers itself off the ebus or whether the power is from the white and blue. It may be that the other wires do some configuration stuff to the VR33 to make it specific to the boiler it's attached to in which case my idea is a non-starter and I'll end up wiring the Tado X in relay mode which would still allow my wife to call a Vaillant engineer if I'm away.
Any advice greatfully received.
